Dr. F. James Clark and The Shalom Church Mass Choir Take Home Four Rhythm of Gospel Awards
The 2016 Rhythm of Gospel Awards were given out in Memphis, TN June 24-25 to the top independent gospel artists and groups across the country. For the St. Louis, MO based ministry of Dr. F. James Clark and the Shalom City of Peace Mass Choir, the weekend proved to be rewarding for their inaugural musical effort SIMPLY AMAZING.
Dr. F. James Clark and The Shalom City of Peace Mass Choir took home four 2016 Rhythm of Gospel Awards: Special Event CD Of The Year, Rhythm of Gospel CD Of The Year (Simply Amazing), Traditional Choir Of The Year and Church Choir Of The Year."We are indebted to everyone in the field of gospel music past and present," says Dr. F. James Clark, Pastor and Founder of Shalom Church (City of Peace).
"We are humbled and thrilled to see how God has breathed life into this company of songs. This is Simply Amazing!"
Dr. Clark and Shalom released their debut album SIMPLY AMAZING in June of 2015 and add the Rhythm of Gospel Awards to a sizable list of accolades for their inspirationally dynamic project. Their first radio single "We Praise Your Name" cracked the Billboard Gospel National BDS Top 30 Radio Chart.
The SIMPLY AMAZING CD debuted on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Sales Chart at #3 and garnered a 2016 Stellar Award nomination forContemporary Choir of the Year. Dr. Clark and his pristine Choir have also received another independent music award nomination for their outstanding music ministry. The 2016 Gospel Blue Mic Award nominees where just announced July 4 with Shalom receiving nods in two categories: Choir of the Year and CD Packaging of The Year (Jabarr Harper/Graphic Design, Benita Bellamy/Creative Direction).
The Gospel Blue Mic Awards will be given out on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Greater Faith Bible Tabernacle in Buffalo, NY. The Gospel Blue Mic Awards are presented annually by Brothaonline.com and Nebo Publishing.Under the musical direction of Music Minister Dello Thedford and Produced and directed by prolific songwriter and arranger Oscar Williams, Jr., Shalom's award wining project features guest appearances by Earnest Pugh ("Trust Me"), Lecresia Campbell ("When I See The Blood"), and Rev. Quincy Fielding, Jr ("The Lord Is Blessing Me"). Their current single "He's Been Good" is continuing to earn heavy airplay on gospel radio.
