Reba McEntire is Bringing "Reba" Back to TV
Country music icon Reba McEnrire is hoping to bring back her show "Reba" back to television. The sitcom which starred McEntire aired on The WB from October 5, 2001 to May 5, 2006 and on The CW from November 19, 2006 to February 18, 2007.
Mc Entire walked the red carpet at the ACM Honors in Nashville on Wednesday night (Aug. 23), and in light of all of the classic TV reboots currently underway, Entertainment Tonight asked her if there were any talks about Reba returning.
"There have been some in the past and hopefully some in the future too," McEntire reveals, adding that the cast members of the hit show are on board. "We'd love to do it."
McEntire adds that we won't be seeing her as a judge on American Idol anytime soon, since she lacks the temperament."If anybody was bad, I don't think I could say, 'You were bad,' or, 'Honey, go get you a day job,"" McEntire admits. "I would definitely not be a Simon [Cowell]."
Meanwhile McEntire and and MercyMe are set to perform at the 48th Annual GMA Dove Awards Oct. 17 at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, CeCe Winans and Zach Williams also will perform. Trinity Broadcasting Network will exclusively air the awards show at 8 p.m. Oct. 22. More talent announcements are forthcoming, according to a news release.
Tickets are on sale now at the Allen Arena box office or online here.
