Tony Wood, Writer for Michael W. Smith, Phil Wickham, Zach Williams & Others, Releases New Book
Focus on the Family, in partnership with Tyndale House Publishers, announces the November 7, 2023, release of Lord, Help Me Pray for My Kids: 365 Heartfelt Prayers for Parents by Tony Wood.
Tony, who has written lyrics for such artists as Michael W. Smith, Francesca Battistelli, Matt Redman, Phil Wickham, Zach Williams, Reba McEntire, and many others, crafted prayers for each day of the year for parents and loved ones to pray over their children. Each day has a theme, and topics include friendships, siblings, anger, forgiveness, missions, and more.
"As parents, when we talk to God about our children, we are often caught up with their immediate needs and whatever stress-inducing event is right before us. We have long-term virtues and characteristics we wish to see in them but don't often get past the tyranny of the urgent to actually pray for these qualities. The prayers in this book are designed to jump-start a mom or dad each day, lifting up their child to God," said songwriter Tony Wood.
"Tony Wood is a true wordsmith, and his parental prayers in this book will help moms and dads everywhere give heart-touching voice to their hopes and dreams for their children," said Larry Weeden, editor in chief, book publishing and content development at Focus on the Family.
Recent endorsements for the release include: "This book has been a faithful guide in helping us cover our four boys in prayer," Tauren Wells; "The perfect tool for the parent who struggles to know what to pray," Zach Williams; "These daily prayers should be on the lips of every God-fearing parent," Jay DeMarcus; "As a busy working mom, this is a godsend!" Francesca Battistelli; "These prayers have changed the game for me," Taylor Cain Matz of CAIN; "Tony has provided a way for me to continue being intentional in interceding on behalf of our kids," Matthew West.
In addition to the book, Tony has released a series of songs that highlight themes from the book. You can find these on all streaming platforms under "Songs Inspired by Lord, Help Me Pray For My Kids." Lyric videos for these are available @TonyWoodSongs on YouTube.com. Tony is currently a staff songwriter for CURB/Word Music Publishing.
