Hillsong Church has just opened a $35 million Epicenter on its Australian campus on December 11th.  The Epicenter, off Solent Circuit in Baulkham Hills, includes a 500-seat theatre as well as television and sound studios, editing suites, classrooms, rehearsal rooms, meeting rooms and offices across five storeys plus a carpark.

The 15,000sq m compound was opened by Australian NSW Premier Mike Baird. Mitchell federal Liberal MP Alex Hawke, Berowra federal Liberal MP Julian Leeser, Riverstone state Liberal MP Kevin Conolly and Castle Hill state Liberal MP Ray Williams also attended the launch and were joined by Hillsong senior pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston and Hillsong Australia lead pastors Joel and Julia A'Bell.

Brian Houston writes: "We are grateful that the NSW Premier made time to cut the ribbon & open our Epicentre. Mr & Mrs Baird, you are in our prayers."

The center will have professional studios and edit suites, which will be used for producing Hillsong's worship albums and Christian television programs for Australian and international markets. The center will also have a children's play area and meeting rooms, including rooms designed for children with additional needs.

In August 1983, Brian and Bobbie Houston founded the Hills Christian Life Centre in the Hills District of Sydney, Australia. It has grown from a congregation of 45 to what is said to be the largest local church in Australian history. It has now expanded to be a global church with local expressions in significant cities; with churches in Australia, London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Cape Town, Stockholm, Germany, Kiev, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Phoenix. Each week, tens of thousands of people across the globe call Hillsong Church 'home' and the reach, impact and influence of this local congregation is seen across many nations.
