Check Out April Shipton's Stunning New Single 'Chapters' Here
UK based Christian singer/songwriter April Shipton has released her new single 'Chapters', co-written by Dave Wheeler and Andy Baker and produced by Tom Auton.
"This new song is a really special one", explains April. "I'm watching a friend go through horrendous heartbreak and turmoil right now, as she journeys through marriage breakdown. It's a transition no one should have to face."
"Whether it's something life-shattering like divorce, a life-limiting diagnosis, bereavement, or just a scary challenge like leaving a job or a grown-up child leaving home, we all face endings in life - and actually, we need them. You can't step into a new beginning without an old season coming to an end."
April started out as a full-time Christian singer/songwriter in 2016, but that's not the start of the story. When she first heard God calling her to sing April recalls, "I did the sensible thing: I totally ignored him."
The fear and insecurity took years to overcome, but as she took small, hesitant steps in the right direction, God opened huge doors of opportunity; her songs were added to the playlists of 3 major national Christian radio stations, Journey On made it into the Top 10 of the UK Christian Charts, she performed on the BBC stage at the Hay Festival 2017, she featured in a TV documentary by CBN Europe, her story was printed in a 2018 Word For You publication and countless other awesome God-sent things.
Even more remarkable is what April's life looked like 10 years ago, and the transformation that took place when somebody prayed for her in the name of Jesus. From anorexic and depressed, to free and redeemed - her powerful story of healing is made even more spectacular in light of what God is doing in her now.
