Elias Dummer to Release "The Work, Vol. 2" After Working on It for the Last Three Years
Award-winning singer/songwriter Elias Dummer will be releasing his brand new album The Work, Vol. 2 this Friday. A labor of love, Dummer has had been working with co-producer Brent Milligan on this new album for the last three years.
Dummer writes, "This record is for the disappointed who refuse to give up hope, the hurt who refuse to give up on mercy, and the tired, worn out on hollow cliches but needing rest in God.
"As circumstances would have it, my family found ourselves in a total blur these past few weeks. Just over a month ago, we decided to move back to Canada to be closer to family (and a few other reasons!), and in that time we have listed, sold, purchased, and begun necessary renovations on a new home all in that time. While it might not have been the best timing for the album, sometimes you just need to do what's right for your family and figure out the rest. So we did!
"Needless to say, it's been a zoo and my brain is mush. But we're working hard to catch up and get back on schedule with video content and more! In the meantime, it would mean the world to me if you'd help me spread the word about this album by pre-saving it today."
Dummer co-founded and fronted one of Canada's most acclaimed worship bands, The City Harmonic. As the group's principal songwriter, he helped pen such hits as "Holy (Wedding Day)" and "Mountaintop," as well as "Manifesto," which served as the theme song for 2011's National Day of Prayer and was the walkup music for Major League Baseball player Seth Smith. The City Harmonic earned 12 GMA Canada Covenant Awards and a Juno Award (Canada's GRAMMY® equivalent), before disbanding in 2017.
Dummer released his solo debut, The Work Vol. I, in 2019 and was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2020 Covenant Awards. In addition, his debut single, "Enough," spent 26 weeks on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart. With more than 65 million lifetime streams to date, Dummer's music-both as a solo artist and with The City Harmonic-appeared on charts in more than 30 countries around the world in 2020 alone.
