The Bronze Halo Award-winning Off-Broadway musical Mendel's Messiah is stepping onto the global stage once again - this time through a sweeping cinematic adaptation set to stream worldwide this spring. What began as a bold theatrical proclamation of faith now reaches international audiences with renewed intensity, vibrant music, and a message rooted in redemption.

Blending Gospel-infused score, high-energy dance, humor, and dramatic storytelling, Mendel's Messiah tells the story of Mendel Moskowitz, a Jewish candy store owner in Brooklyn whose world collapses when an anti-Semitic mob destroys his livelihood. In the aftermath of hatred and heartbreak, Mendel cries out to God, demanding answers to suffering and longing for the promised Messiah.

His plea sparks a supernatural encounter. The Angel Gabriel appears, launching Mendel on a visionary journey across time - where he witnesses pivotal moments in the life of Yeshua (Jesus), encounters His disciples, and confronts spiritual darkness personified in Beelzebub. What unfolds is both deeply emotional and unexpectedly humorous, as Mendel wrestles with doubt, identity, and divine revelation.

The film is executive produced, written, and composed by husband-and-wife creative team Jeremiah Ginsberg and Wendy Ginsberg, whose passion to tell the Gospel story through a distinctly Jewish lens has fueled the project for decades. Emmy Award-winning director Bradford May brings cinematic scope and visual richness to the adaptation, elevating the beloved stage production into a compelling screen experience.

"There is no more beautiful love story in the history of the world than the Gospel found in John 3:16," says Jeremiah Ginsberg. "We were amazed to discover that Jesus is Jewish, and that His Hebrew name, Yeshua, means 'salvation.' We felt called to tell His story richly, joyfully, and beautifully - through music, dance, humor, and deep emotion."

Starring Beau Davidson as Yeshua, Stephen Len White as Beelzebub, and Gary Morgan as Mendel, the film crescendos into a triumphant declaration of hope: victory over death, darkness, and unbelief through faith.

The cinematic adaptation will stream exclusively on FaithChannel, the faith-first platform launched in 2024 dedicated to uplifting, family-friendly content from around the globe. As FaithChannel continues expanding its slate of inspirational programming, Mendel's Messiah stands as a flagship release - bridging Broadway artistry with Gospel proclamation.

More than a musical, Mendel's Messiah is a bold affirmation of covenant love, restoration, and the enduring relevance of the Messiah's story. This spring, audiences everywhere are invited to experience the journey - and rediscover the hope that changes everything.
