It starts in three days. And if you have not heard about this yet, you need to.

From April 18 to 25, 2026, over 475 leaders from every sphere of influence will gather in Washington, D.C. to read the entire Bible aloud - from Genesis to Revelation - ahead of America's 250th anniversary. The venue is the Museum of the Bible. The format is 12 hours of continuous public Scripture reading every day for seven straight days. More than 450 speakers are scheduled, including six cabinet members, six governors, and 20 federal lawmakers.

This is not a rally. This is not a political event. It is exactly what it sounds like - the Word of God, read publicly, by the nation's leaders, in the nation's capital.

The opening celebration kicks off Saturday night, April 18, at National Community Church, Capitol Turnaround, with confirmed appearances by Candace Cameron Bure, Patricia Heaton, Rep. Michael Cloud, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, worship leaders Leeland Mooring and Phil King, and WallBuilders founder David Barton. Among those additionally invited: Chris Tomlin, Jenn Johnson, Dennis Quaid, Chris Pratt, Speaker Mike Johnson, Shannon Bream, Willie Robertson, and Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The vision behind the event came from an unlikely source - the Old Testament. Organizer Bunni Pounds of Christians Engaged said she was inspired by the prophet Ezra, who stood up and publicly read the books of Moses to the Israelites, reminding them of who they were. She asked: what if today's national leaders had their own "Ezra moment"?

After more than a year of planning and 122 ministry partners secured, Pounds describes the gathering simply: "I really feel like we're laying an offering at the feet of Jesus."

The seven-day reading will be livestreamed daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET on Great American Pure Flix, meaning anyone - churches, families, small groups - can participate from anywhere in the country. A special gathering for 18-30 year olds runs April 21-24 alongside the main event.

For a faith community that believes the Word of God still speaks - and still transforms nations - this is the kind of moment worth clearing your schedule for. Paul told Timothy to devote himself to the public reading of Scripture. This weekend, hundreds of America's most visible leaders are planning to do exactly that.

Watch live at americareadsthebible.com or Great American Pure Flix starting Saturday night, April 18.
