One chapter is closing. Another is already open.
Kelly Clarkson announced in February that this fall marks the end of The Kelly Clarkson Show after seven seasons - a decision she called "not an easy" one. But fans barely had time to process the news before NBC made a major announcement of its own.
NBC confirmed on May 7 that Team Kelly is back - Clarkson returns as a coach for Season 30 of The Voice this fall. It will be her 11th season in the coaching chair.
Joining her is Adam Levine, back for his 19th season. Two additional coaches are still to be announced.
The Reason Behind the Talk Show Exit
Clarkson said stepping away from the daily talk show grind would let her prioritize her kids - calling it "necessary and right for this next chapter."
She is mom to daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remy, 9. The loss of their father, her late ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, reshaped her view of what truly matters most. For someone who has always put family at the center of her life, the choice speaks louder than any headline.
What She Returns To
Clarkson holds the record for most wins by a female coach in The Voice history with four victories - and she is not coming back just to fill a chair.
The Kelly Clarkson Show wrapped up an impressive run - 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four consecutive wins for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
She signed off her talk show announcement with a promise that aged well fast: "This isn't goodbye. You may catch me on The Voice from time to time."
Turns out - sooner than anyone expected.
The Voice Season 30 premieres on NBC this fall.
