Riley Green: A new coach the faith community already knows
While Season 30 marks his coaching debut, he has performed on The Voice stage before - most notably when he sang "Jesus Saves" during the Season 28 finale, a performance that resonated deeply with faith-based audiences.
He announced the coaching news on Instagram alongside a video of Kelly Clarkson calling to welcome him. "I guess y'all can start calling me coach," he wrote. "See ya this fall." Clarkson, who has covered several of his songs on The Kelly Clarkson Show, told him on the call: "I'm a super-fan of your music - but needless to say, it's a competition."
Queen Latifah completes the panel
NBC confirmed Queen Latifah as the final fourth coach on May 12, rounding out one of the strongest panels the show has assembled in years. The 56-year-old brings a career that spans Grammy wins, an Oscar nomination for Chicago, seven studio albums, a record label presidency, and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction to her first season in the red chair. Fan reaction has been overwhelmingly positive - many online calling it the most exciting Voice announcement in years.
As a milestone season, The Voice Season 30 will also feature special appearances from former coaches, callbacks to iconic moments from the show's history, and surprises throughout. No specific premiere date has been announced yet, but fall 2026 on NBC is confirmed.
Riley Green once stood on that same Voice stage and sang "Jesus Saves" to a nationwide audience. Now he is sitting in one of its red chairs. For a show that has always celebrated the power of voice and story, having a coach who has publicly carried his faith into mainstream spaces is something worth noting - and worth watching this fall.
The Voice Season 30 premieres this fall on NBC and streams on Peacock the following day.
