A worship leader from Vero Beach, Florida just had one of the strongest debut weeks in Provident Entertainment history.
Charles Weems' label debut single "I Will Follow" pulled in more than 600,000 streams worldwide in its first week of release, while content featuring the song accumulated over six million views across social media. Before it even dropped, the single recorded the second-most pre-saves for a debut single in Provident Entertainment history - surpassed only by Brandon Lake.
For an artist stepping onto a major Christian label for the first time, the numbers tell a clear story: people were already waiting.
Weems comes from a multigenerational ministry family in Vero Beach, where his great-grandparents helped start the family church and his father now leads it. He first drew widespread attention with his independently released 2024 worship anthem "Slow Me Down," which has since crossed 34 million lifetime streams. That organic momentum was a key part of what brought him to Provident Entertainment, where he signed earlier this year.
"I Will Follow" was co-written with Caylie Bryant of SEU Worship and produced by Josh Holiday of Elevation Rhythm. Rooted in a personal season of surrender, the song carries what Weems describes as his approach to all his music - "prayers in the form of melodies."
The music video is available now on YouTube. "I Will Follow" is streaming on all major platforms.
