Morgan Wallen Cancels Pittsburgh Show Mid-Tour - Here's Why
Country superstar Morgan Wallen had to pull the plug on his second consecutive night at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 7 - and he was direct about the reason.
"After talking with local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight's show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night," Wallen wrote on Instagram. He added that safety for his fans and crew was his top priority and that refunds would be available at the original point of purchase.
Saturday was declared a First Alert Weather Day for Pittsburgh, with forecasters warning of strong to severe storms - including heavy winds, hail, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes - expected to move through the area between 4 and 6 p.m.
The cancellation came just one night after Wallen successfully completed Night 1 at the same venue, which included a surprise walkout appearance from hometown hero, former WWE star and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle.
Wallen's Still the Problem Tour continues with upcoming stadium dates in Chicago (June 19-20), Clemson, S.C. (June 26-27), and Baltimore (July 17-18). The tour supports his latest album I'm the Problem, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spent 13 nonconsecutive weeks at the top.
For a man who has built one of the biggest careers in country music, the call to protect thousands of fans in uncertain weather reflects a value that resonates beyond the stage - people matter more than the show.
