Beyoncé kicked off a 60-day countdown on July 4 with the surprise release of "Morning Dew (Donk)," ahead of a 20th anniversary reissue of her sophomore album, B'Day, arriving September 4.
Here's what's actually confirmed about the reissue so far - and a look back at what made the original such a landmark album.
B'Day first released on September 1, 2006, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with more than 541,000 copies sold in its first week. The album went on to sell over 8 million copies worldwide and won Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 49th Grammy Awards. Its original tracklist included hits like "Déjà Vu," "Ring the Alarm," and "Irreplaceable," alongside fan favorites "Suga Mama," "Kitty Kat," and "Green Light."
Seven months after its initial release, Beyoncé issued a Deluxe Edition in April 2007, adding songs including the Shakira duet "Beautiful Liar," along with a 13-video companion release called the B'Day Anthology Video Album.
For the upcoming 20th anniversary reissue, Parkwood Entertainment has confirmed only that "Morning Dew (Donk)" - originally recorded during the B'Day sessions and shelved for two decades - will be included. A full tracklist for the anniversary edition has not yet been announced.
What's certain is the album's staying power: nearly two decades later, "Get Me Bodied" remains a wedding reception staple, and B'Day is still remembered as one of the first true "visual albums" in pop music, with a video made for nearly every track.
