BTS will step onto one of the biggest stages of their career this Sunday, July 19, when they co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The K-pop septet joins Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber as co-headliners for the historic 11-to-15-minute performance, curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus - performing alongside Coldplay - round out the lineup, according to FIFA and Global Citizen, who are jointly producing the event.
The halftime show marks the first time the World Cup Final has featured a Super Bowl-style entertainment segment, and it doubles as a fundraiser: FIFA and Global Citizen have already raised more than $50 million toward a $100 million goal for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which expands access to education and football for children worldwide. One dollar from every match ticket sold during the tournament has gone toward the cause.
For BTS, the moment lands at a high point in their reunion year. The group has spent 2026 breaking commercial records following their return from military service, and the World Cup stage puts them in front of a global audience that could rival the nearly 1.5 billion viewers FIFA reported watching the 2022 Final.
Beyond the spectacle, organizers say the show's core purpose - using a global platform to open doors for children who might otherwise be overlooked - reflects a mission that resonates well beyond the world of music. It's a reminder that even entertainment's biggest stages can be used to serve a cause bigger than the performance itself.
The World Cup Final kicks off at 3 p.m. ET Sunday, with the halftime show expected to begin around 3:55 p.m. ET. It will air on FOX, Telemundo, and Peacock.
