New England Patriots star TreVeyon Henderson is proving that his boldest plays aren't always on the football field.
The breakout running back has gone viral once again after sharing an unapologetic message about his faith in Jesus Christ, with his latest post drawing more than 1.3 million views as fans praised his humility and unwavering commitment to the Gospel.
Rather than embracing the popular saying that "God gives His toughest battles to His toughest soldiers," Henderson said his reading of Scripture has led him to a completely different conclusion.
"I've heard the saying that 'God gives his toughest battles to his toughest soldiers,'" Henderson wrote. "But when I see the disciples that Jesus chose and suffered for His name's sake, I don't see Him choosing the 'toughest soldiers.'"
Instead, Henderson pointed to a God who delights in using ordinary, weak people for extraordinary purposes.
"I see a strong and mighty God choosing weak men and women, and empowering them by His Holy Spirit to face some of the toughest battles and be used for His glory."
The 22-year-old then offered a candid glimpse into his own spiritual journey.
"I once thought I was a 'tough soldier' until I met Jesus. I then realized that I'm so weak without Him, and apart from Jesus I can't do anything."
His closing words quickly became the standout quote circulating across social media.
"I need Jesus daily."
Henderson went on to explain that becoming the man God has called him to be has nothing to do with his own athletic ability or determination.
"The only way that I can truly become who God wants me to be and truly do what God wants me to do is not by my power, not by my might, but only by the Spirit of the Living God. Thank you Jesus."
It's hardly the first time Henderson has captured attention for his outspoken faith. The former Ohio State standout has developed a reputation as one of the NFL's most vocal young Christians, regularly using his platform to point followers toward Christ. Earlier this year, he made headlines for explaining why Christian love looks different from the world's during Pride Month, and after a remarkable stretch of five touchdowns in five days, he insisted, "I can't do it without Jesus."
Henderson's willingness to keep faith front and center comes as his football career continues its rapid ascent. After helping Ohio State win the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship, he was selected by New England in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He wasted little time making an impact, rushing for 911 yards and nine touchdowns during his rookie season while helping propel the Patriots to the Super Bowl.
In an era when many athletes build their brands around confidence and self-belief, Henderson continues to send a strikingly different message.
His latest viral moment wasn't about highlight reels or touchdown celebrations-it was a reminder that, in his own words, "I need Jesus daily."
