The Voice is getting its biggest makeover in the show's history-and fans won't recognize the competition when it returns.
NBC has officially announced The Voice: Celebrity, an all-new version of the hit singing competition that swaps everyday contestants for actors, athletes, comedians, musicians, and reality TV stars battling it out on stage. The revamped series is set to premiere in spring 2027, although an exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
The dramatic overhaul also marks the end of an era.
After hosting the show since its 2011 debut, Carson Daly will step down following Season 30. While he'll remain involved as a producer, the hosting reins will officially pass to Keke Palmer, making her the first new host in the franchise's history.
The coaching lineup is getting a refresh, too. Country star Riley Green returns for his second season in the red chair alongside Queen Latifah and Nick Jonas, who makes his return as a coach for the celebrity edition.
Before the famous Blind Auditions even begin, viewers will also get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at contestants preparing for the competition in a new segment called Voice Boot Camp, where celebrity hopefuls will sharpen their skills before trying to earn chair turns.
The changes come after NBC experimented with new formats over the past two seasons, including the Battle of Champions and a season without live shows. Now, the network is betting that Hollywood star power will breathe fresh life into one of television's longest-running reality franchises.
Fans won't have to wait long for more Voice action. The traditional competition returns first with Season 30, premiering September 21, 2026, featuring coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green, with Carson Daly hosting for what is expected to be his farewell season.
Whether viewers embrace celebrities competing instead of undiscovered singers remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: The Voice is taking its boldest gamble yet.
