Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially landed in the United Kingdom, arriving with their children six years after stepping back from royal duties and relocating to California.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down at Birmingham International Airport around noon Wednesday aboard a private flight from Van Nuys, California, according to the Associated Press. They were joined by Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. No visible police presence was reported at the airport, with the couple instead relying on their own private security team.
The move follows weeks of reporting that the family planned to resettle in Britain for an "extended" period so Archie and Lilibet could begin attending British schools this September. The couple is expected to live at a private, non-royal residence outside London, though the exact location has not been disclosed. They will also keep their home in Montecito, California.
Despite the move, Harry and Meghan remain nonworking royals, meaning this return does not signal a formal comeback to official royal duties.
King Charles III was informed of the couple's plans earlier this month and has reportedly welcomed the opportunity for more time with his grandchildren. The family visited Charles and Queen Camilla over the summer at Highgrove, marking the monarch's first reunion with Archie and Lilibet in four years.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor a spokesperson for the Sussexes has issued an official public statement confirming the move, though multiple outlets, including the BBC and Associated Press, have corroborated it through flight tracking and sources close to the family.
