The investigation into Hayden Panettiere's sudden death has taken another dramatic turn, with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson reportedly meeting with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Hickerson spoke with federal officials as investigators continue trying to determine what happened before the 36-year-old Nashville and Heroes actress was found unresponsive in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16. According to People, authorities are reportedly examining whether drugs obtained from a dealer may have contributed to her death.

A police report stated that Hickerson showed an officer a bag containing medications Panettiere had been taking.

Page Six reported that Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, was at the residence and that Hickerson allegedly administered it before performing CPR.
