ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky has shared that his brother-in-law, Federico "Fed" Lascano, died unexpectedly over the weekend. Lascano was reportedly 43.

Orlovsky announced the loss Thursday in a post on X, calling it an unimaginable tragedy for his family. Lascano was married to Orlovsky's sister, Christine, and leaves behind their three sons. "Heartbreak of losing a husband, a partner, and a father so suddenly" is how Orlovsky described the loss, adding that his sister now faces life as a single parent with one income. No cause of death has been disclosed.

Orlovsky also shared a GoFundMe for Christine and her sons, saying a gift of any size would ease the burden and give the family room to grieve. One outlet reported that the fundraiser had raised more than $84,000 at the time of its report. He thanked supporters for showing up for his sister and nephews and said the family is grateful for the love surrounding them.

ESPN colleague Laura Rutledge, who works with Orlovsky on "NFL Live," said she is praying for the family.

Orlovsky, 43, played quarterback in the NFL from 2005 to 2017 before becoming one of ESPN's most recognizable analysts. He and his wife, Tiffany, have four children. He has spoken openly about his Christian faith and led an on-air prayer on "NFL Live" in 2023 for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin while Hamlin was hospitalized.
