Samuel L. Jackson is ready to build an empire in Texas, and the first teaser for "Frisco King" suggests the neighborhood is in for a rough introduction. Paramount+ has unveiled footage from Taylor Sheridan's "Tulsa King" spinoff, confirming a December 18 premiere with two episodes, followed by weekly Friday releases.

Jackson reprises Russell Lee Washington Jr., the veteran gangster introduced in "Tulsa King." The teaser pairs his imposing presence with explosive action, including a kitchen confrontation in which his character strikes an opponent with a pan. Sylvester Stallone's Dwight Manfredi also appears, connecting the new series to the criminal world viewers already know.

The series follows Lee as he arrives in Frisco, Texas, and identifies opportunities beneath the suburb's respectable appearance. With a young protégé, a dependable driver and an unconventional group of associates, he begins turning modest schemes into a growing business. Each success brings greater exposure-and more opportunities for everything to unravel.

His history with Dwight gives the spinoff an established foundation. According to Paramount+, the two men became friends in federal prison, and Lee's appearances in "Tulsa King" Season 3 set up his next move. After declining an assignment to kill Dwight, Lee sets out to establish a different life and criminal enterprise of his own.

Jackson leads a cast that includes Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann, with Stallone making a special appearance. Germann plays Teddy, a college dropout whose entrepreneurial instincts attract Lee's attention, while Caster portrays hotel valet Keith. Pate and Gann play London and Avery, two cheerleaders who become part of Lee's circle.

Sheridan writes all eight episodes of the debut season. Jackson, Stallone and Sheridan also serve as executive producers, with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios producing. Christina Alexandra Voros directs the pilot, sharing the season's directing duties with Michael Friedman.

"Frisco King" premieres December 18 on Paramount+.
