"The Chosen" is approaching the moment its story has been building toward for five seasons. Prime Video and 5&2 Studios have released the official Season 6 trailer, offering an emotional preview of Jesus' final day as his followers confront the prospect of losing him and his opponents move toward his condemnation.
Jonathan Roumie returns as Jesus in the penultimate season of Dallas Jenkins' biblical drama. The new footage places him under questioning about his intentions, his authority and whether his mission represents a threat to Roman rule. Those confrontations set the stage for a season centered on the approaching crucifixion.

Season 6 premieres November 15 on Prime Video, with three episodes available immediately. Three additional episodes will follow weekly through December 6, giving viewers six streaming episodes before the story continues in a separate theatrical finale in 2027. The announced streaming territories include the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The season maintains the series' emphasis on the people surrounding Jesus, presenting his final day through the experiences of those who love him and those who condemn him. His followers, religious authorities and Roman rulers bring different expectations to the same unfolding events, while Jesus remains committed to the path before him.
Jenkins has described filming this chapter as painful, while emphasizing Jesus' willingness to face what lies ahead. "He chose surrender and humility and sacrifice," the creator said in a statement accompanying the trailer, according to UPI. His comments identify the central emphasis of the season: Jesus understands the suffering approaching him and chooses to continue.
The release also clarifies how viewers will experience the crucifixion storyline. Following the streaming episodes, "The Chosen Crucifixion" will bring the season to cinemas in 2027. The Australian distributor currently lists March 11 for its theatrical release, while U.S. reporting lists March 12.
For viewers preparing for the new season, the official "The Chosen" website directs audiences to revisit Seasons 1-5 through Prime Video and "The Chosen" app. The November premiere begins the next stage of a story now moving from Jesus' public ministry toward the cross.
