Captain Underpants Movie Release Date, Reveals, Teasers, Updates and Plot: Movie to be Released on Theatres on January 13th 2017
If Spiderman can get 4 movies hen Captain Underpants should get at least one. The Character first written in 1997 by Dav Pilkey is coming to theatres on January 13th 2017. DreamWorks Animation acquired the rights to the book in 2011 and took a further 2 years to start shopping around for directors. Rob Letterman as finally picked for the project. Letterman is also working on the Goosebumps movie coming out in 2015 so the next couple of years are truly busy for him.
The character as written by Dav is the mean principal of two fourth grade pranksters who somehow hypnotize him into believing he is a superhero who wears underpants and a polka dotted cape. For the first few books he believes he has superpowers when he actually does not, the boys have to follow him around to make sure he does not get hurt. In the third book the duo feed him extra strength super power juice which gives him super powers alongside two of the boy's relatives and a dandelion that becomes a villain. The captain battles a number of superheroes in the different books from Dr. Diaper a mad scientist that looks like a baby to The Talking Toilets. It is still unclear what plot line will be exploited as there are ten books in total.
The book has received critical acclaim even getting a Disney Adventures Kid's Choice Award in 2007. However, it has also faced a lot of attack especially from parents who feel the author uses language that is a little too grown for the target audience which has led to it being banned in some schools. Nicholas Stoller is set to write the script for the movie so he will have to take the parent's concerns into account. Ed Helms has been chosen to voice Captain Underpants while Kevin Hart and Thomas Middletich are voicing the pair that crated him.
