Award-winning singer-songwriter and author Ellie Holcomb will release her new album, Flowers For No Reason, on April 2, 2027. Preorders are now available, with the 11-song collection continuing her exploration of God's love, the beauty of creation and the invitation to rest. Her official store has also revealed the complete tracklist.
Announcing the project on Instagram, Holcomb shared her excitement with a playful confession about its original title.
"Flowers For No Reason...an album I wanted to call 6/7, but my manager wouldn't let me," she wrote.
"I've been holding onto these songs for quite some time and I can't wait for y'all to hear them!"
Alongside the announcement, Holcomb posted Genesis 2:2-3, which describes God resting on the seventh day after completing creation and blessing that day as holy. The passage places rest at the centre of her announcement, echoing the themes she has already introduced through the album's title track.
Released on September 18, "Flowers For No Reason" grew out of a friend's thoughtful gesture. During a chaotic day, Holcomb learned that he had sent his daughter flowers simply to remind her that she was loved. That act prompted Holcomb to reflect on the unexpected gifts through which God communicates His care. The single's release announcement describes the forthcoming album as an invitation to notice everyday beauty and find freedom in being deeply loved.
In an earlier interview with ChurchLeaders, Holcomb connected the project to humanity's "origin story" and the biblical teaching that every person is created in God's image. Her comments suggest that the album's joyful imagery also makes room for listeners carrying grief, uncertainty or exhaustion, affirming God's presence through difficult seasons.
Flowers For No Reason follows a substantial body of work that includes As Sure As The Sun, Red Sea Road, Canyon and 2025's Far Country. Holcomb's solo debut earned her the GMA Dove Award for New Artist of the Year, while "I Will Carry You," from Canyon, became a Top 10 radio single. Her work also extends to children's books and companion music, bringing her love of Scripture and creation to younger audiences.
