Droid Turbo Smartphone Confirmed: Verizon Wireless and Motorola Announced October Release Date, Specs and Features of the Upcoming 'Bullet-Proof' Smartphone
It's been months since the first rumor on the DROID Turbo started, but now, Verizon Wireless and Motorola finally confirmed the DROID, stating that the new smartphone is set for a release on October 28. The two companies also said that the DroidDoes.com website will also launch on the said date.
Rumors and leaks have already revealed the said smartphone in the previous months, including a user manual that unveiled the DROID's key features.
According to the manual, the upcoming device will come with a 5.2-inch display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel, and it's even coated with a metalized glass fiber. It will surely be free of dents throughout.
The Droid also comes with a 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, a 3GB RAM, a 32GB internal storage, and a 21-megapixel camera.
The upcoming device will also come with a Droid voice command. The Always-On feature will come with it too, like the one from the first Moto X in 2013.
The Droid will also be fast-charging. It's capable of packing 8 hours worth of energy in a mere 15-minute charge. Its 3900mAh battery will last up to two days per charge.
The Droid is also made water-repellant. It's made to withstand usual water spills and temporary rain exposure.
It may also be one of the toughest smartphone today, as the DROID uses a Kevlar material for its back cover. Yes, it's the type of material used for bullet proof vests and helmets used by the SWAT teams. Other than being 'bullet-proof', the material allows for a smooth finish.
