Ticket resale platform StubHub has issued a public apology after a listing error mistakenly advertised a Christian Christmas concert centered on the birth of Jesus as a heavy metal show by the band Lamb of God.
The event in question was Behold the Lamb of God, the well-known annual concert and musical presentation created and led by Christian singer-songwriter Andrew Peterson. The concert, which proclaims the biblical story of Christ's birth through Scripture and song, was held on December 20 at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.
Due to the error on StubHub's platform, the event was briefly mislabeled, leading some customers to believe they were purchasing tickets for a Lamb of God heavy metal concert-an event that was not scheduled to take place. The misclassification caused confusion among ticket buyers, with reports of metal fans unexpectedly arriving at a Christian Christmas concert.
StubHub acknowledged the mistake, stating that the error occurred on its resale platform and not through the venue's official ticketing provider. The company confirmed that the listing has since been corrected and emphasized that it updated the information prior to the performance.
In a statement, StubHub apologized for the confusion and reaffirmed its commitment to customer satisfaction, offering full refunds to affected ticket holders under its FanProtect Guarantee.
Despite the mix-up, the incident drew widespread attention online, with many responding humorously to the unexpected crossover between vastly different musical worlds. Organizers and attendees of Behold the Lamb of God noted that the concert remained focused on its mission of celebrating the life and coming of Jesus Christ through worship and storytelling.
