The search for Nancy Guthrie remains unresolved nine days after the 84-year-old disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona, as federal and local authorities continue an expansive investigation into what they describe as a possible crime.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on the night of January 31. Investigators confirmed that a doorbell camera at her residence was disconnected around 1:47 a.m. on February 1, a development that has heightened concern as the case moves deeper into its second week.

In a statement released Monday evening, the FBI said its agents, analysts, and support staff are working around the clock "to reunite Nancy Guthrie with her family." Officials added that they are not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers and have not identified any suspects or persons of interest at this time. Additional personnel from FBI field offices across the country have been deployed to Tucson, where a 24-hour command post remains operational.

The update follows reports of alleged ransom notes sent to multiple media outlets demanding up to $6 million in cryptocurrency and containing threats against Guthrie's life. Authorities have not publicly authenticated the notes and confirmed that no proof of life has been provided. The final deadline outlined in the messages passed without resolution.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement officials have searched multiple locations, including examining a septic tank near Guthrie's home. According to law enforcement analysts, such steps indicate investigators are methodically exhausting every possible lead as they work through the case.

Savannah Guthrie has issued several emotional video pleas, urging anyone with information to come forward. The family has repeatedly turned to prayer and public appeals, hoping for Nancy's safe return.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
