Savannah Guthrie is holding onto hope.
In an emotional new video shared as the search for her mother enters its fourth week, the TODAY show anchor announced a $1 million reward for information leading to the recovery of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
"We still believe in a miracle," Savannah said, her voice breaking. "Hope against hope."
The substantial Savannah Guthrie reward will be paid for information that directly leads to locating her mother, consistent with FBI criteria. The offer, combined with existing federal and local incentives, brings the total potential reward to approximately $1 million.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen the evening of January 31 after returning to her Tucson home. Authorities believe she was taken during the night. Surveillance footage released by investigators shows a masked man approaching her front door in the early morning hours of February 1.
The FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department continue to treat the case as a likely abduction. More than 40,000 tips have reportedly been reviewed, and hundreds of investigators remain assigned to the case. A glove found two miles from Nancy's residence did not yield a DNA match in national databases.
In her new Savannah Guthrie video, the veteran broadcaster acknowledged the painful uncertainty.
"We also know that she may already be gone," she said. "But we need to know where she is."
Beyond the reward, Guthrie's family has pledged a $500,000 donation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, recognizing the countless other families enduring similar anguish.
