GRAMMY and Dove Award-winning Christian artist Laura Story has officially announced the release of her brand-new book, Stand in Awe: How Reverence Transforms Our Worship and Our Lives, a project she says has been more than ten years in the making.
In a heartfelt social media post, Story shared her excitement and gratitude surrounding the release, thanking Crossway Books for helping bring the vision to life.
"It's hard to put into words how excited I am," Story wrote. "I have worked on this project for over a decade."
Published by Crossway and officially released on May 12, 2026, the book explores the biblical idea of reverence and how worship should shape not only church gatherings but every area of a believer's life.
According to the publisher, Stand in Awe seeks to help Christians refocus their attention on God in a culture increasingly centered on self. Drawing from over 20 years of experience as a worship leader and recording artist, Story addresses what worship truly is, the dangers of shallow or self-focused worship, and practical ways believers can cultivate reverence in everyday life.
The book is aimed at both worship leaders and everyday Christians, combining biblical teaching, church history, and practical application. It also includes guidance for worship teams, corporate worship settings, liturgy, and personal spiritual formation.
Story, best known for her platinum-selling hit Blessings, has long been respected not only for her music ministry but also for her transparent writing and teaching on suffering, faith, and trust in God. Alongside her music career, she serves as a worship leader at Perimeter Church in Georgia and has previously authored books including When God Doesn't Fix It.
The new release has already received endorsements from prominent Christian leaders and worship voices including Keith Getty, David Mathis, and Jordan Kauflin, with many praising its call for deeper, God-centered worship.
