The Jackson Family Is Divided Over the Michael Biopic: Here's Where Everyone Stands The story is not over yet.

Just weeks after the Michael biopic crossed $700 million at the global box office, Netflix has announced a three-part docuseries that picks up exactly where the film left off. Michael Jackson: The Verdict premieres June 3, 2026, and goes directly into the chapter director Antoine Fuqua deliberately left on the cutting room floor - the 2005 child molestation trial that ended with Jackson's acquittal on all 14 counts.

The series is directed by Nick Green and produced by Candle True Stories, with former ABC News president James Goldston among the executive producers. Unlike previous documentaries that relied on archival footage alone, this three-part series features key individuals who were inside the courtroom - including jurors, eyewitnesses, and accusers and defenders alike - dissecting the case from the perspectives of both the prosecution and the defense.

The trailer ends with a clip of Jackson himself looking directly into the camera and saying, "Please keep an open mind and let me have my day in court."

The timing is not an accident. Since Michael hit cinemas globally in late April 2026, it has ignited a massive resurgence in demand for Jackson's catalog, with Jackson recently crossing a historic milestone on Spotify, surpassing 100 million monthly listeners for the first time ever. Netflix is stepping into that wave with a series designed as event television for viewers who either lived through the trial or are encountering it for the first time.

Each episode runs approximately 50 minutes - enough room to examine the legal process without cutting corners.

For those who have followed JubileeCast's coverage of Jackson's spiritual life, this is a story worth watching with the fuller picture in mind. Producer Rodney Jerkins, who worked closely with Jackson in his final years, has spoken publicly about a moment of prayer they shared - and of Jackson's spiritual hunger in his last season of life. That story does not end at a courthouse verdict. It continues beyond it.

Michael Jackson: The Verdict arrives on Netflix on June 3, 2026. All three episodes will be available to stream globally.
