Luke Bryan is setting the record straight - and he's not losing any sleep over it.
The five-time Entertainer of the Year recently released a new single, "Fish Hunt Golf Drink," which quickly drew both praise and criticism on social media. Some fans went as far as accusing Bryan of using artificial intelligence to write the track, pointing to lines in the opening chorus like "Wake up, coffee. Camo, climb tree."
Bryan addressed the backlash directly while at the Memorial Pro-Am golf tournament at Muirfield Village. "We've had some negativity out there. Some trolls kinda saying that I 'AI'ed it, which is completely false," he told NBC4. "That song was designed for one thing. To have fun and to tell the world what I love to do and what I strive to do."
Bryan also explained exactly where the idea came from. "When I get days off, I want to hunt, fish, golf and drink. And I might try to do them all on the same day."
The songwriters back him up completely. Country hitmakers Chase McGill and Matt Dragstrem co-wrote the track, and told Rolling Stone it was entirely human-created - "It's not rocket science, but it's true to who Luke is."
"Fish Hunt Golf Drink" is a promotional single from Bryan's upcoming ninth studio album Signs, set for release on September 18, 2026. Bryan has been putting out feel-good summer anthems like this for nearly two decades, with similar tracks like "Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day," "One Margarita," and "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset" all drawing from the same well of outdoor living and simple pleasures.
In a music industry where the question of human vs. machine creativity is becoming louder by the season, Bryan's answer is refreshingly simple - some songs are just about living your life and being grateful for the good days. That's a message any faith-based audience can appreciate.
