Annie F. Downs is expanding her reach beyond bestselling books and chart-topping podcasts with the launch of her first television series, I GOTTA ASK, a new talk show designed to spark meaningful conversations where curiosity, faith, and personal growth take center stage.
The beloved author, speaker, and podcaster recently opened up about the inspiration behind the show, revealing that television has long been a dream of hers.
"I've kind of always dreamed of doing TV," Downs shared in a recent interview. "I've always loved interviewing people. That's why we called it I GOTTA ASK, because I'm the nosiest friend you've ever had."
The series brings together a unique mix of guests around a roundtable format, including celebrities, experts, and everyday individuals. Each episode explores topics ranging from relationships and finances to personal growth, faith, and life experiences, creating an environment where diverse perspectives can intersect.
Unlike traditional interview programs that focus solely on one guest, I GOTTA ASK thrives on interaction and shared learning. Downs intentionally designed the format to encourage authentic dialogue among people who might not normally sit at the same table together.
"I wanted to sit at a round table with a handful of friends at the same time and let them teach each other, inspire each other, learn from each other," Downs explained. "Every episode, there's an expert of some kind, a celebrity of some kind, and then one of my normal friends and me."
The result, she says, has been a series filled with unexpected insights and genuine moments of connection.
"It's been so fun to get these people together and watch them learn from each other," she said. "People watching are going to have their own lightbulb moments."
At the heart of the show is Downs' desire to create a space where questions are welcomed rather than discouraged. In a culture often pressured to have immediate answers, she hopes viewers will discover the value of curiosity and conversation.
"My hope is that viewers feel like they are right there with us," Downs said. "Joining us in this place where curiosity is welcome, faith is explored, and asking more questions is the norm, not the exception. No one has to have it all figured out. We just get to be together and share our stories."
The program joins the growing slate of faith-inspired content from Wonder Project, the media company behind several recent Christian and family-friendly productions. Wonder Project executives say Downs was a natural fit for their platform because of her authenticity and ability to connect with audiences.
"We've been huge fans of Downs for a long time and are proud to bring her honest voice and perspective to our audience," said Tristen Tuckfield, the company's head of content acquisition.
Faith remains central to Downs' approach, both on and off screen. While she welcomes people from all backgrounds into the conversation, she says her Christian faith continues to shape the lens through which she views life.
"I have not experienced a map outside of faith in Jesus that has given me hope when things seemed hopeless, that has given me purpose when I felt like I was drowning in boredom, that had given me joy when the world was not joyful for me," Downs shared. "To me, the faith lens is the way to go."
Already one of the most influential voices in Christian media through her bestselling books and widely followed podcasts, Downs' move into television marks a significant new chapter in her ministry and media career. The show blends thoughtful discussion, practical wisdom, humor, and faith-centered reflection, offering viewers an invitation to explore life's biggest questions alongside trusted voices and friends.
The first two episodes of I GOTTA ASK are now streaming on the Wonder Project channel on Prime Video, with additional episodes expected to continue bringing fresh conversations and inspiring stories to audiences throughout the season.
