Paul Walker's brother says artificial intelligence could technically bring the late actor back for one final "Fast & Furious" movie - but he won't be the one making that call.
Cody Walker told Entertainment Weekly that advances in AI, combined with unused footage from earlier films, could allow Universal to digitally recreate his brother's character, Brian O'Conner, for the franchise's upcoming finale, "Fast Forever." "AI was not a thing back in 2014, so they could do that," Cody said. "There's years of footage that was never used from these other 'Fast' films. They're the best in the business, they can figure that out."
Still, Cody made clear he's "not interested" in being personally involved in bringing the character back, adding that he considers Brian's send-off in "Furious 7" - where the character quietly rode off to raise his kids rather than being killed on-screen - a fitting and "beautiful" conclusion.
Cody said the real decision belongs to someone else entirely: Paul's daughter, Meadow Walker, who appeared in "Fast X" and remains close with franchise star Vin Diesel. "My stance is, it's what Meadow wants to see done; it's her father," he said.
Diesel has previously signaled that reuniting Dom and Brian is part of his vision for the franchise's ending. "Fast Forever" is currently set for release March 17, 2028.
Paul Walker died in a car accident in 2013 during production on "Furious 7." Cody and the brothers' other sibling, Caleb, stepped in to complete his remaining scenes at the time - a role Cody says he has no plans to reprise, even digitally.
