Primetime, the A24 film starring Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen, is now available to watch at home, and Hansen has asked the actor to sit down with him. Here is what is confirmed.
According to FandomWire, the digital release date was Nov. 3. Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the film is a fictionalized take on Hansen's early career and the rise of NBC's To Catch a Predator.
What did Chris Hansen ask Robert Pattinson? On the Oct. 28 episode of his podcast Have a Seat with Chris Hansen, Hansen invited Pattinson on to discuss the film and his career, saying, "Robert, come have a seat, anytime." Hansen even offered to fly to London, where Pattinson is shooting the next Batman movie.
What does Hansen think of the film? He called it a "fever dream" and graded Pattinson's performance a "D." Hansen has said it was detached from anything he experienced during his investigations. Pattinson has told Deadline he is a fan of Hansen and was trying to make him "cool" in the film.
Has Pattinson responded? Whether he will accept the invitation remains to be seen.
SlashFilm describes Primetime as an unsettling, R-rated drama. Parents will want to use discretion. The film's subject is the protection of children from online harm, and Scripture calls believers to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:8).
