YouVersion and OneHope Launch Free Bible Loop App to Help Teens Build Daily Scripture Habits

YouVersion has introduced Bible Loop, a free Bible app designed to help teenagers develop meaningful daily habits in Scripture. Created in partnership with global ministry OneHope, the newest addition to the YouVersion Family of Apps combines interactive activities, personalized devotionals and Bible engagement tools to encourage young people to grow in their faith.

Now available worldwide on Android and iOS, Bible Loop supports English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. The app is designed for teenagers navigating a stage of life when independence increases and personal habits begin to take shape.

Bible Loop offers several features to make spending time in God's Word more engaging, including:

• Verse Memorization Game: Helps teens remember daily Scripture through an interactive game featuring an anonymous leaderboard that encourages friendly competition.

• Learning Loops: Will introduce interactive lessons developed with trusted partners and content creators that teens enjoy.

• Daily Check-Ins: Matches devotional content with how teenagers are feeling each day.

• Verse of the Day: Provides a daily Scripture passage for reflection and encouragement.

• Daily Prayers: Helps young users develop a consistent prayer habit.

• Multiple Bible Versions: Offers Scripture in more than 50 versions across 10 languages.

YouVersion founder and CEO Bobby Gruenewald said the app was created specifically for teenagers as part of the organization's vision to reach everyone, everywhere with God's Word. He also expressed appreciation for OneHope's expertise in reaching young people with the Gospel, emphasizing the shared hope that Bible Loop will establish lasting Scripture engagement habits.

The partnership draws on OneHope's decades of experience in youth ministry and research. Since 1987, the organization has shared God's Word with more than 2 billion children and young people through partnerships with local churches worldwide.

Research conducted by OneHope highlights the importance of developing spiritual habits before children enter their teenage years. A recent U.S. study found that Gen Alpha, whose oldest members are now teenagers, spends an average of four hours and six minutes online each day.

Another OneHope study, conducted in partnership with Barna in 2021, found that weekly Bible engagement among children of engaged Christian parents declined from 88% among those ages 6-9 to 73% among those ages 10-12. The findings point to a need for more intentional ways to help young people remain connected to Scripture as they grow older.

OneHope co-founder and president Rob Hoskins emphasized that the preteen years are especially important for spiritual development. He explained that Bible Loop aims to meet young people where they are while helping them build a foundation for a lifelong relationship with Jesus.

Teenagers can download Bible Loop for free through the official YouVersion website.
