Gospel recording artist and recovery advocate Robert Hawkins has released his new album, The Recovery Journey Project, alongside his first book, the Just For Today 7-Day Journal. Featuring 12 tracks created with The Recovery Gathering Band, the project draws from Hawkins' personal journey from addiction to recovery, offering messages of faith, perseverance, and hope to those facing life's challenges.
The album is led by "Lifted By Love," a reimagining of the classic hymn "Love Lifted Me." Featuring original lyrics inspired by Hawkins' experiences, the song explores isolation, addiction, and the restoring power of God's love and grace.
The collection follows the release of "We Coming Up," the project's final advance single, featuring Myammee and EMCEE N.I.C.E. Blending urban, R&B, rap, and gospel influences, the collaboration addresses depression and doubt while delivering an uplifting message of hope through choir-led call-and-response.

The album opens with "Just For Today" and closes with an acoustic version of the same song, reinforcing its central message of taking recovery one day at a time.
Alongside the album, Hawkins has introduced his first book, the Just For Today 7-Day Journal, available through Amazon. Inspired by the acoustic version of the song, the journal encourages readers to reflect on hope, healing, and recovery through daily reflection.
Both releases connect with Hawkins' work as founder and executive director of The Recovery Gathering, an organization supporting individuals and families affected by addiction, mental health challenges, and life's hardships through worship, personal testimonies, and community.
The project is also designed to reach beyond traditional music audiences, creating opportunities for partnerships with rehabilitation centers, recovery organizations, behavioral health programs, correctional facilities, churches, and community groups.
Since signing with NRT Music, Hawkins has accumulated 135,000 streams across Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. His music videos have also earned nearly 600,000 views over the past year. Additionally, he has received BET Gospel airplay and GRAMMY® consideration for "Better Days (Remix)," featuring EMCEE N.I.C.E.
The Recovery Journey Project and the Just For Today 7-Day Journal are available now.
