Robert Pattinson has reportedly screen-tested for James Bond, according to The Hollywood Reporter, making him the biggest name yet in the search for the next 007. Nothing is official, and Amazon has not commented.
Who else has reportedly tested? Nicholas Hoult has also surfaced as a contender, joining Callum Turner, Jack Lowden and Josh O'Connor. Hoult was reportedly the runner-up to Pattinson for Batman years ago.
The tests reportedly took place the weekend of Oct. 24 in London, where Pattinson is filming The Batman Part II. World of Reel reported that director Denis Villeneuve, who worked with Pattinson on Dune: Part 3, asked him to come in during a production break.
What is the next Bond film? It is the first Bond movie since Amazon bought the franchise's creative rights in February 2025. Villeneuve is directing from a script by Steven Knight. Daniel Craig's last outing as Bond was 2021's No Time to Die.
Reports say the next Bond is expected to commit to several films, which could be a tough fit for Pattinson's busy schedule. He also stars as Chris Hansen in A24's Primetime, now available to watch at home.
For now, the casting remains a waiting game.
