Ravi Zacharias Teachings Reappear Online as Family Disputes Credible Abuse Findings

Teachings by late Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias have resurfaced online through a newly launched family-controlled platform, prompting renewed debate years after an independent investigation found credible evidence of sexual misconduct.

According to a report published by ChurchLeaders, audio recordings and lectures by Zacharias have been made available via a website operated by members of his family. The move comes despite the findings of a posthumous investigation commissioned by Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), which concluded in 2021 that Zacharias engaged in long-term sexual abuse and exploitation, including misconduct involving massage therapists connected to spas he co-owned.

Following the investigation's release, RZIM acknowledged the findings as credible, removed Zacharias' materials from its platforms, and later rebranded the ministry under a new name. Several publishers and Christian organizations also withdrew or ceased distribution of his books and teachings.

In contrast, members of Zacharias' family - including his wife and two of his children - have publicly rejected the investigation's conclusions. In an open letter released in 2024, the family described the public narrative surrounding the allegations as inaccurate and hostile, maintaining that Zacharias was wrongly portrayed and disputing claims of abuse.

The newly released materials are hosted separately from RZIM and are not endorsed by the former ministry. The reappearance of Zacharias' teachings has sparked renewed concern among Christian leaders and abuse advocates, many of whom argue that the investigation's findings should continue to shape how his legacy is handled within the church.

Zacharias, who died in 2020, was one of the most prominent Christian apologists of his generation, known for his global speaking ministry and numerous bestselling books. The renewed circulation of his content highlights ongoing tensions within the Christian community regarding accountability, legacy, and the ethical use of teachings associated with leaders found to have engaged in abusive conduct.

As discussion continues, church leaders and organizations are again being urged to prioritize survivor care, institutional transparency, and responsible stewardship when engaging with materials linked to discredited ministries.
