Worship artist Brandon Lake is stepping into new creative territory, teaming up with leading country stars during a recent songwriting retreat in Nashville. The event gathered more than 25 artists, including Lainey Wilson, Dan + Shay, and HARDY, for five days of collaboration earlier this month.
Lake shared glimpses of the retreat on social media, revealing that the group wrote nearly 50 songs. While details about releases remain under wraps, the sessions sparked excitement across both country and Christian music communities.
"We weren't writing just for country or Christian music - we were writing songs that matter," Lake said.
The retreat marks another crossover moment for Lake, who earned a CMA nomination in 2025 for "Hard Fought Hallelujah," his collaboration with Jelly Roll. That project introduced Lake's message of faith to mainstream audiences, and this latest effort appears to continue that momentum.
Joining Lake in the sessions were familiar worship names like Benjamin William Hastings, Pat Barrett, and producer Jacob Sooter, alongside top Nashville writers such as Trannie Anderson and Micah Nichols.
Though no official releases have been announced, Lake hinted that some songs could appear on future country or worship projects.
This collaboration reflects a growing trend in Christian music, where artists are reaching beyond genre boundaries to share faith-rooted songs with broader audiences. Whether these new tracks land on church setlists or country radio, fans can expect heartfelt lyrics, strong storytelling, and Christ-centered messages at the core.
