The culinary world's biggest night just wrapped in Chicago, and the full list of winners is in.

The James Beard Awards - often called the Oscars of the food world - were announced Monday, June 15, at the historic Lyric Opera of Chicago, before an audience of roughly 2,000 chefs, restaurant owners, and culinary figures. The ceremony also marked the Foundation's 40th anniversary and was hosted by Top Chef judge Gail Simmons, with presenters including Top Chef Season 23 winner Rhoda Magbitang, actor Luke Tennie, and musicians Killer Mike and El-P of Run the Jewels.

Michael Tusk of Quince in San Francisco was named Outstanding Chef of the year. The Outstanding Restaurant award went to Kalaya, a beloved southern Thai eatery in Philadelphia.

Best New Restaurant honors went to Lei, a 28-seat wine bar in New York's Chinatown that serves food rooted in Chinese home cooking, splitting its menu between warm and cold dishes.

The Outstanding Restaurateur award was won by Dana Street, who owns Fore Street, Scales, Standard Baking Co., and other restaurants in Portland, Maine.

One of the evening's most meaningful moments came from the Emerging Chef category. Adrian Torres of Maximo in West University Place, Texas, took home the honor and used his moment on stage to celebrate his immigrant roots, saying that for so long, "fear was our story."

Other confirmed winners of the night included Providence in Los Angeles for Outstanding Hospitality, while Susan Bae of Moon Rabbit in Washington, D.C. won Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker.

The James Beard Foundation has handed out these honors since 1991, and the awards are widely seen as both recognition and prediction - past winners have gone on to become household names, including Alice Waters, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse, and Bobby Flay.

For the faith community, nights like this carry a quiet reminder. Long before any award is handed out, every chef, baker, and restaurant owner on that stage built something by serving people well - one meal, one act of hospitality, at a time. That kind of faithfulness, shown consistently over years, is its own kind of witness.

Congratulations to all of this year's James Beard Award winners.
