U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina died Saturday night, July 11, 2026, at age 71, following what his office described as a brief and sudden illness. His office confirmed his passing early Sunday morning and asked for prayers and privacy for his family during this time.

Graham represented South Carolina in the U.S. Senate for more than two decades. Away from Capitol Hill, he was known as a longtime member of Corinth Baptist Church in Seneca, South Carolina, a Southern Baptist congregation he'd attended for years. Friends at the church noted that Graham had a habit of slipping into services just after they started and leaving quietly before the closing prayer, reportedly to keep a low profile.

Graham was open about his faith when asked directly about it, once telling a reporter he was not ashamed to say he followed Jesus. He said he unashamedly accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, while noting he represented people of every faith and no faith as a senator.

No further details about his illness have been released. His family has asked for prayer and privacy during this time.

JubileeCast joins many across the country in praying for Sen. Graham's family and loved ones during this difficult time.
