Simone Biles has shared another health update - this time revealing she underwent a medical procedure on July 22, more than a month after the "near-death experience" that first alarmed fans in June.
The seven-time Olympic medalist posted a series of Instagram Stories on Thursday, starting with a photo of flowers, a new purse, and a handwritten note waiting for her at home. "I got back from the DR the night before his bday & he SURPRISED ME," she wrote, referencing husband Jonathan Owens. She followed with a black-and-white photo of herself in a hospital gown and hair net, standing beside Owens. "His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure," she captioned it, adding a string of heart emojis.
Biles has not disclosed what the procedure was for, or whether it's connected to the June health scare that landed her in the hospital and left her on bed rest. At the time, she called it "one of, if not the scariest experience of my life," and promised to share more details eventually - a promise she has yet to fully deliver on.
In the weeks between, Biles has continued showing up: she appeared at the 2026 ESPY Awards on July 15, attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding on July 3, and returned just this week from a trip to the Dominican Republic. Through it all, she has leaned on the same steady anchor she's pointed to before - her Catholic faith, which she has described as what "helps me through the tough times."
Whatever this latest procedure was for, Biles' fans and the JubileeCast community continue holding her - and her full recovery - in prayer.
