Brian "Nashville" Duckworth's family is still processing his death, and a new tribute from his niece is revealing just how present music remained in his life until his final days.
Singer-songwriter Brianna Duckworth Kazner, niece of the late Taylor Made frontman, shared a Facebook tribute this week saying her uncle called her only about a week before he died with an idea for a new song. The conversation has taken on new weight now that Duckworth, who performed alongside siblings Greg Duckworth and Wendy Williams, has passed at 56.
Kazner wrote that her 2025 wedding, where Taylor Made performed together, turned out to be "the last time Taylor Made sang together." She said she's still "having a hard time believing" that milestone came and went without anyone realizing it was the group's final performance as a trio.
The tribute also recalled Duckworth's role as her creative mentor. Kazner said that whenever she hit a wall in her own songwriting career, her uncle was "the guy to call," crediting his way with lyrics for pulling her out of more than one slump. She closed her post with a promise: "Guess I should get to work on that" unfinished song idea he'd shared with her.
For a family whose harmonies were built on faith and Sunday singing long before Taylor Made ever took a stage, the memory reflects the legacy Duckworth's relatives say they're determined to carry forward - one rooted as much in gratitude as in grief.
