Actress and model Kimmarie Johnson, whose screen credits included Beverly Hills, 90210 and Dude, Where's My Car?, has died following a heart-related medical emergency. She was 50.

Her niece, Rhonda Scott, told TMZ that Johnson suffered a "heart event" at her Los Angeles home on October 27 and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital. According to Scott, doctors diagnosed a "heart aneurysm condition." Johnson died peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, November 4, the outlet reported.

Scott also confirmed the death to PEOPLE, remembering her aunt's warmth and the impression she left on others.

"She radiated a light so strong and bright," Scott said. Her tribute described someone whose positive presence would remain deeply missed by those who knew her.

Born and raised in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, Johnson pursued modelling while studying at California University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a degree in elementary education. Her career subsequently took her to New York and into beauty pageants. She represented Pennsylvania in the 1993 Miss USA competition, which helped bring her to the attention of entertainment managers and agents.

Her acting work included appearances in Beverly Hills, 90210, the Pamela Anderson series V.I.P. and the 2000 comedy Dude, Where's My Car?. She also worked as a producer and continued modelling alongside her other professional interests.

Beyond entertainment, Johnson founded the skincare brand SkinGlow by Kimmarie. She is survived by her son, Los Angeles musician Cameron Nino, whom she welcomed in 2003.
