Tamera Mowry-Housley is speaking openly about her faith in Jesus Christ, sharing how reading the Bible deepened her relationship with God and encouraged her to use her platform for prayer.

The Sister, Sister actress acknowledged that speaking publicly about Christianity brought concerns about criticism and losing followers. But she decided to move forward, explaining that her desire to share her faith comes from love and a wish to encourage others.

"I proudly call myself a Christian," she said in an Instagram video announcing plans for Sunday posts devoted to faith.

Mowry-Housley's reflections, reported earlier this year, describe a relationship with God that has continued to grow since childhood. Although she accepted Christ at eight, she said a later decision to seek God through Scripture helped her understand faith more personally.

"I want to know who you truly are," she recalled saying as she opened her Bible.

She went on to read Scripture from beginning to end, describing the experience as transformative while acknowledging that her spiritual growth remains ongoing.

Her testimony also addresses the pressure to be perfect. In an earlier appearance on the Jesus Calling podcast, Mowry-Housley explained that she once believed doing everything correctly would make her problems disappear. Over time, she learned that God's love did not depend on flawless performance. That understanding helped her face disappointment and uncertainty in her career.

That emphasis on trust carries into her prayers for followers. Announcing her Sunday series, she prayed for people searching for joy, purpose and peace, as well as those struggling with faith. She also acknowledged her own tendency to analyse what God is doing and her desire to surrender the things beyond her control.

Her planned Sunday posts would make room for prayers, reflections, music and other expressions of faith. Through them, she hopes to encourage others while continuing to share her own journey with honesty and warmth.
