Children's worship artist Yancy is giving God the glory for a ministry that has reached churches, schools and families far beyond what she could count.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the singer and songwriter reflected on Genesis 21:22, sharing the words: "God is obviously with you helping you in everything you do."
"I feel this to my bones. Let it be said of me," she wrote.
For Yancy, the verse expresses something deeply personal about her years of making music and serving the Church.
"Over the years I've had no record labels, no big team, no system that allowed for me to do what I do. And yet God..."
Those final words carry the heart of her testimony. Looking back at the communities that have welcomed her ministry, Yancy pointed to God's presence and provision as the explanation for its reach.
"The churches, the schools, the PEOPLE! They outnumber what I can count," she shared, adding that anyone asking why would receive the same answer: "God is obviously with me helping me in everything I do."
Her reflection comes with a substantial musical legacy behind it. Through her Little Praise Party series, Yancy has helped churches and families introduce young children to worship through accessible songs and animated videos. What began as a response to a local church's need grew into resources used in homes and ministries around the world. Her Kidmin Worship music also serves older children and preteens.
In 2021, Ready Set Go, part of the Little Praise Party series, earned the GMA Dove Award for Children's Album of the Year. Yancy's songwriting has also reached audiences through other artists, including Avalon, who recorded her song "I Don't Want to Go."
Her contribution extends beyond recordings. Through worship resources, ministry training and her Heartbeat curriculum, she has equipped leaders to teach children why Christians worship and how praise can become part of daily life. As the daughter of children's ministry pioneer Jim Wideman, she continues a family commitment to helping young people grow in faith.
That work gives particular weight to her latest message. Behind the songs, concerts and resources is a woman who sees her ministry as evidence of God's help. Her gratitude also honours the people who have opened their churches, classrooms and homes to the music.
For those serving faithfully with limited resources, Yancy's testimony offers encouragement to keep answering God's call. Her own explanation remains simple: "And yet God..."
