Planning a family movie night? Here are five new picks, ranked by JubileeCast on faith and family fit, rating, and availability.
1. Drummer Boy (in theaters, PG-13). The action-musical from For King & Country follows two brothers on opposite sides of the American Revolutionary War. It's rated PG-13 for war violence and some bloody images, so parents of younger kids should preview it. Crosswalk calls it a faith-fueled story about the power of forgiveness.
2. Hershey (Nov. 25, PG). Rated PG for some thematic elements and brief language, the Angel Studios film stars Finn Wittrock and Alexandra Daddario as Milton and Kitty Hershey. It follows their decision to leave their fortune to America's orphans.
3. Disney's Hexed (Nov. 25, PG). The PG-rated animated adventure stars Hailee Steinfeld as an impulsive teen witch and Rashida Jones as her cautious mom, and it's best for kids around 7 and up.
4. Karen Kingsbury's The Christmas Ring (streaming). The film, starring Kelsey Grammer, Jana Kramer, and Jessie James Decker, began streaming on Great American Pure Flix on Nov. 5, and it airs on Great American Family on Saturday, Nov. 7.
5. Wildwood (in theaters, PG-13). LAIKA's first PG-13 feature is praised for its animation, but its rating cites strong fantasy violence and suicide-related material, so it's best for teens and older kids.
