We have the latest for you on the release date, specs, price, rumors and reports of Samsung Gear S. Samsung has finally confirmed the release date of the long awaited Samsung Gear Solo smart-watch. This smart-watch is expected to be released in October and fans can't wait to see what this new devices has to offer. According to the Chosun Ilbo the Gear S is Samsung's hope of staying in the game and a head of their rivals who produce the same kind of product to the fast growing market.
Samsung made the official announcement on August 28th saying "Samsung is leading this exciting and rapidly developing wearable category through progressive innovation. The Samsung Gear S redefines the idea of the smart wearable and the culture of mobile communication. It will let consumers live a truly connected life anywhere, anytime." This was said by JK Shin, CEO who is also head of IT & mobile communication at Samsung Electronics.
It is not yet confirmed about the price of the new smart-watch though we assume that it will be affordable considering the fact that Samsung is known for making affordable devices for its consumers.
When it comes to the specs the new Samsung Gear S runs on Trizen OS and also comes with Nokia's HERE Map app and the Financial Times' fastFT app. It is available in black or white with a 2 inch curvy screen that makes it the perfect fit on the wrist.
The smart-watch also supports Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, and 3G saving you the hustle of always having your smartphone in order for you to receive your notifications.
This smart-watch is just perfect for those who like fitness and do not like carrying their smartphones with them as they workout. It will also be perfect for them as it includes a heart rate scanner and a UV sensor.
The watch runs on a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and also has 4GB of internal storage. The smart-watch does have a down side to it though, as it has a short battery life from the internal 300mAh cell that lasts around two days.
