Jessamyn Rains Releases Video For Liturgical Song "Holy"
Jessamyn Rains, a singer-songwriter living on Walden's Ridge, near Chattanooga, Tennessee, has released a new video for her liturgical song "Holy."
"I found my 'True North' when I began writing poetry in high school, and a couple of years later, when I began writing songs," Jessamyn explained. "Like many who aspire to write and create, I was chasing after beauty, expression, and truth, attempting to capture discrete moments and convey something true via the juxtaposition of them.
I've been writing songs for more than 20 years now, and not much has changed," Jessamyn said. "I am still looking for the right words, still chasing after that elusive melody."
Jessamyn is a mom to four children under five, and she said that a lot of her songwriting these days is accompanied by discordant toddler piano-banging. She said that she nevertheless finds herself inspired in new directions and that she finds Wordsworth's quote "the Child is father of the Man" to ring true as she discovers afresh the wonders of the world through the eyes of her children.
