Ten years later, Puberty 2 still hits differently - and Mitski just gave it two unexpected new tracks to prove it.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of her seminal fourth album, Mitski has released Puberty 2 (10th Anniversary Edition) digitally today via Dead Oceans. The surprise? The digital version includes two bonus tracks: covers of One Direction's "Fireproof" and Frank Sinatra's "I'm a Fool to Want You."

The combination sounds unexpected on paper - but it works.

Mitski fits One Direction's "Fireproof" with her signature distortion, blowing out the original's soft guitar to form a fuller, heavier track. Meanwhile, Frank Sinatra's "I'm a Fool to Want You" becomes cosmically tense, with Mitski numbly repeating the title phrase amidst suspended chords that slowly unravel.

These covers originally appeared on the Our First 100 Days and Seven Inches for Planned Parenthood charity compilations respectively, but haven't been streamable until now.

Beyond the covers, the anniversary edition also includes new lyric videos for "I Bet on Losing Dogs," "Once More to See You," and "Your Best American Girl," all translated into Spanish, Portuguese, and Filipino.

A limited edition "Forest Shadow" colored vinyl pressing will follow on October 30.

Originally released in June 2016, Puberty 2 became one of indie rock's most beloved records - a raw, searching album about longing, identity, and the ache of not quite fitting anywhere. Themes of yearning and the search for meaning have always resonated beyond the indie world, and for many listeners of faith, the album's honest wrestling with those questions is part of what made it last.

Mitski continues her world tour through July, with upcoming shows in Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, before heading to the All Things Go Festival in September.
