Christian singer-songwriter David Coate is bringing a deeply personal Scripture-centered message to Christian radio with the release of "Inside Out (Psalm 139)." Written and produced by Coate, the Inspirational and Christian Soft AC song draws from Psalm 139 to reflect on identity, purpose, worth and God's intimate knowledge of every person.
Inspired by the Psalmist's declaration that God knows us completely and is present wherever we go, "Inside Out (Psalm 139)" points listeners to the biblical truth that every person is intentionally created by God and given significance and purpose. The song also connects that God-given identity to the love of Christ and His sacrifice.
The project carries an especially meaningful visual connection to Psalm 139. Its cover art comes from a tapestry created years ago by Coate's daughter, artist Allison Coate. The four-foot-by-four-foot artwork was part of a Psalms-themed collection commissioned by a university in Ohio, with every strand of yarn hand knitted.
Coate's ministry through music spans decades. Based in the Boston area, he has performed nationally with the David Coate Group at churches, colleges, prisons, outreach events and Christian music festivals, including Creation Festival and SoulFest. He also served for 19 years as Worship Pastor at North River Church in Pembroke, Massachusetts, where he continues to volunteer.
Beyond performing and songwriting, Coate is a producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist who owns and operates Turning Point Recording Studio. His music has received national Christian radio airplay, including his recent song "A Million Ways," which debuted at No. 1 on Christian Radio Chart's weekly chart for the week of June 15, 2026. He is currently continuing work on his thirteenth album project.
